Engineering Manager (UK)

Location: London, UK, with a few days working from home. Engineering teams work across London and Paris.

What you will do

• Lead a squad of software engineers as its technical leader and coach.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers on roadmaps, project delivery, requirements, and documentation.
• Oversee technical decisions, architecture, code quality, code reviews, design reviews, testing, releases, monitoring, and KPIs.
• Ensure delivery goals, velocity, quality targets, and blocker resolution across projects.
• Recruit, develop, retain, and coach engineers while supporting team performance, cohesion, and growth.
• Coordinate with other technical leaders and the VP of Engineering to improve scalable cross-team processes and drive AI adoption.

Requirements

• 7–12 years of engineering experience, including 2–5 years leading engineering teams in a product-first company.
• Strong technical credibility, including the ability to read code and challenge design without personally implementing every feature.
• Experience shipping products with Product and Design teams, including adapting plans during delivery.
• Strong engineering standards across testing, CI/CD, observability, and disciplined releases.
• Clear communication, confident handling of difficult conversations, and a strong coaching mindset.
• French-speaking skills are highly desirable but not essential because engineering teams work across London and Paris.
