Applied AI Manager (AI)

Location: London; hybrid working model with the option to work abroad for up to 3 months per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of complex ML and GenAI systems that are robust, scalable, and aligned with business goals.
• Guide end-to-end model development from experimentation and evaluation through deployment, monitoring, and reproducibility.
• Drive architectural decisions for data-intensive AI applications and balance advanced approaches with production readiness.
• Mentor engineers across levels and promote best practices in software engineering, ML/AI, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape roadmaps, scope projects, and deliver business impact.
• Champion engineering excellence through coding standards, CI/CD, observability, incident management, and company-wide AI adoption.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong people-development skills, including mentoring, performance reviews, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.
• Strong software engineering skills, preferably with Python, and deep knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, GenAI tooling, and modern data and infrastructure stacks.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying ML or GenAI systems in production.
• Experience leading architectural discussions and making technical trade-offs while remaining able to work at implementation level.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and modern MLOps practices.

Nice to have

• Experience working with complex, data-heavy domains such as finance or legal technology.
• Experience in a collaborative, startup-style environment.
