Engineering Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop software engineers through one-on-ones, feedback, career planning, performance reviews, and constructive performance management.
• Build a healthy and effective team culture based on trust, inclusion, accountability, engagement, and sustainable workloads.
• Hire and onboard engineers while planning team capabilities and capacity with People & Talent.
• Turn strategy into clear priorities, establish reliable planning and release rhythms, and use delivery, operational, and customer evidence to adjust plans.
• Own technical accountability for architecture trade-offs, production health, security posture, technical debt, testing, observability, feature flags, and incident learning.
• Help the team adopt AI tools in development, testing, code review, and documentation, and partner with Product and Design to bring valuable AI-powered capabilities into production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant software engineering or similar experience, ideally in modern SaaS product development and agile environments.
• Direct experience managing software engineers, including coaching, career development, performance reviews, hiring, and onboarding.
• Strong technical depth with experience owning architecture, production health, security, technical debt, testing, observability, feature flags, and incident learning.
• Practical experience applying AI tools to software development and evaluating effective team practices.
• Clear written and spoken English and a base in or near London or Copenhagen are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DORA metrics, observability tooling, SRE practices, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Experience leading an engineering team through significant growth or organizational change.
• Experience delivering AI-powered product capabilities.

Hiring process

• Talent Department call followed by an interview with the CTO.
• Meeting with internal stakeholders, Product & Design leadership, and engineering team members.
• Technical challenge and official interview with the CTO, team members, and Talent, followed by an Assessio personality test and final follow-up conversation.
