Environmental Health & Safety

Location: US-CA-Carpinteria; fully on-site five days per week with no remote work available. Occasional after-hours, weekend, and holiday support may be required for emergencies and 24/7 site operations.

Salary: $97,841–$152,876 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

hirify.global provides analytical, life science, and laboratory technologies and operates a manufacturing and laboratory site requiring comprehensive EHS oversight.

What you will do

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and internal EHS standards.
• Lead site emergency response, incident command, investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, inspections, and audits.
• Manage hazardous waste, chemical storage and disposal, air and water compliance, environmental programs, and sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, exposure evaluations, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and occupational health activities.
• Own the site EHS Management System, including procedures, training, documentation, metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Workplace Services, engineering, laboratories, operations, vendors, contractors, and regional and global EHS teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience in EHS, regulatory compliance, manufacturing, or laboratory environments.
• Experience in a high-risk manufacturing or laboratory environment within life sciences, pharmaceutical, or chemical analysis.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulatory frameworks and management systems, including OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and DTSC.
• Experience implementing EHS management systems and conducting hazard and risk assessments.
• Ability to work on-site in Carpinteria five days per week and provide occasional emergency support outside normal working hours.

Nice to have

• EHS certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
• Experience with engineering controls, safety design, project management, and practical implementation.
• Experience in a GMP environment.
