Senior Specialist, Purchasing/Procurement (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Analyze demand signals, determine material requirements, and generate and execute purchase orders.
• Coordinate procurement activities from purchase intent through delivery, including specifications, suppliers, schedules, pricing, and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular supplier meetings, and address delivery, quality, and commercial issues.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, penalties, credits, process changes, equipment, quality, and delivery requirements.
• Assess supply chain risks and coordinate countermeasures such as lead-time reduction, safety stock, forecast improvements, alternate suppliers, and alternate components.
• Coordinate with customer service, sales, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams, including deployment of specifications for ECO changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or BS in industrial engineering or another engineering discipline.
• Five to ten years of related experience.
• Experience with ERP software; SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to interpret safety rules, engineering specifications, procedure manuals, and engineering drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in an office environment and travel approximately 10%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SAP.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
• Experience with manufacturing processes, machining, PCBA, or injection molding.
