Commodity Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies for an assigned portfolio of commodities across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Analyze spend, demand, market conditions, and supply bases to identify consolidation, standardization, and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Lead negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, lead times, total cost of ownership, and supply agreements.
• Manage supplier performance, qualification, onboarding, rationalization, scorecards, and improvement plans.
• Support new product introduction by sourcing prototype and production suppliers and influencing design-for-cost and supply-chain decisions.
• Identify and mitigate single-source, geopolitical, tariff, financial, and other supply-continuity risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, or commodity/category management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success delivering cost savings through negotiation and strategic sourcing.
• Strong skills in spend analysis, should-cost modeling, total-cost-of-ownership evaluation, negotiation, contracts, and supplier management.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and analytical tools such as Oracle EBS, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Planning, Quality, Finance, Trade Compliance, and Logistics.

Nice to have

• CPSM, CSCP, or APICS certification, or progress toward an advanced degree.
• Experience with electronics, PCBA, motors, mechanical, or other engineered-product commodities.
• Experience with Oracle EBS R12, global trade, tariffs, HTS classification, landed-cost analysis, Lean, or Six Sigma.
