Procurement Buyer (Construction Procurement)

What you will do

• Own assigned sourcing activities from planning and tendering through evaluation, approvals, and contract award.
• Support category plans, market research, supplier engagement, frameworks, and qualification systems.
• Partner with project teams to define requirements, timelines, and practical procurement approaches.
• Run fair, efficient, and well-documented competitions in line with procurement governance.
• Assess supplier proposals, support commercial negotiations, and identify opportunities to improve value, quality, and project outcomes.
• Maintain procurement records in eTenders, the Sourcing Register, and approval systems while building effective supplier and stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in procurement, sourcing, office administration, contract support, or a similar role.
• Strong commercial judgement, data analysis, problem-solving, organization, communication, and attention to detail.
• Collaborative, practical, flexible, and adaptable approach with motivation and resilience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• No formal education or specialist qualification is required at appointment.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction, engineering, or public procurement.
• Relevant qualification, professional membership, or procurement qualification.
• Willingness to work toward a procurement qualification.
