Control Systems Engineering Specialist (Embedded Controls)

Location: Peterborough, United Kingdom; onsite in the office five days per week. Travel is expected to be less than 10%.

Salary: £66,079 per annum, dependent upon experience.

What you will do

• Develop and support control system architectures and functionality for machine and technology applications.
• Design, develop, and enhance electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices for construction machinery.
• Collaborate with systems, software, and product teams to define and implement control strategies.
• Integrate, validate, and troubleshoot electronic and software-based control system features.
• Contribute technical expertise to project planning, design reviews, and product development.
• Maintain tools and processes supporting embedded control and AUTOSAR software features.

Requirements

• Experience with embedded systems and their applications in machine control.
• Ability to analyze requirements, solve technical problems, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Knowledge of control system development, troubleshooting, and technology advising.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines and global teams.
• Experience with control software development in vehicles, construction equipment, or a related environment is advantageous.
• Working onsite in the Peterborough office five days per week is required.

Nice to have

• Variant or calibration data management experience.
• Understanding of fixed-point data typing.
• Extensive MATLAB Simulink development experience.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR, CAN, Ethernet, CANape, CANalyser, or CANoe.
