Offshore Wind Turbine Technician (Wind Energy)

Location: Mostyn, Flintshire, United Kingdom; offshore work at the Gwynt Y Môr site

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and corrective maintenance on offshore wind turbine generators.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults involving control systems, gearboxes, yaw systems, and pitch control systems.
• Replace defective components and complete repairs according to technical procedures and quality standards.
• Follow offshore health, safety, and environmental requirements, including GWO standards, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and PPE rules.
• Complete maintenance reports, service documentation, asset records, and equipment and spare-parts inventories.
• Report hazards, near misses, and incidents while supporting safe and reliable turbine operation.

Requirements

• Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in wind turbine maintenance, offshore operations, or heavy industrial electrical and mechanical engineering.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, including electrical control systems, hydraulics, gearboxes, yaw systems, and pitch control systems.
• Experience with electrical testing, diagnostic and calibration equipment, and maintenance software.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training, OGUK Offshore Medical Certificate, and Chester Step Test Fitness Certificate.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical reporting skills.
