Senior Electrical Engineer (Battery Storage)

What you will do

• Deliver electrical system designs and grid integration for UK battery energy storage and other renewable energy projects.
• Review drawings, studies, calculations, test procedures, commissioning plans, and contractor technical submissions.
• Coordinate with DNOs, TOs, BESS OEMs, BOP contractors, consultants, and internal development, construction, procurement, and project delivery teams.
• Develop high-voltage interface designs covering substations, transmission lines, MV and EHV cables, control systems, and remote-end modifications.
• Prepare technical requirements for RFPs and tenders, evaluate bids, and support EPC contract and PPA technical reviews.
• Attend project sites and manufacturer factory acceptance tests when required, supporting installation, testing, commissioning, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is an asset.
• 4–7 years of experience in the power generation, distribution, or transmission industry.
• Experience delivering power projects through design, execution, and commissioning stages.
• Experience with the UK grid market and DNO connections, plus large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, conventional generation, renewable energy, and the traditional energy industry.
• Existing UK work authorization and UK-based availability are required.

Nice to have

• Chartered Engineer status, such as IET, EUR Ing, or PEng.
• Master’s degree in Engineering.
