Principal Product Designer (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid with two days per week in the London office

Salary: £100,000–£120,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Shape product direction by framing user and business problems, influencing the roadmap, and defining design strategy with Product and Engineering.
• Design agentic workflows with calibrated autonomy, including review, override, supervision, and audit capabilities.
• Make AI trust visible through source verification, calibrated confidence, progress visibility, and traceable autonomous actions.
• Design complex multi-step, multi-user journeys from discovery through production-ready UI, including system context, memory, retrieved evidence, and tool access.
• Lead customer and internal user research, collaborate with engineers on edge cases and failure states, and connect design decisions to measurable outcomes.
• Evolve the design system, support accessibility and consistency, and mentor designers through critiques and design practice.

Requirements

• Significant Principal or strong Senior-level experience designing B2B enterprise SaaS products.
• Portfolio demonstrating strategic problem framing, high-quality UI, and complex workflows involving multiple user types or high-stakes decisions.
• Hands-on experience designing AI-powered products, preferably agentic products.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and inclusive design.
• Expert use of Figma and modern prototyping practices, including AI-assisted design tools.
• Experience building or scaling a design system and leading through influence with senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy domains such as the public sector, healthcare, or financial services.
• Familiarity with agentic UX patterns and toolkits such as AI SDK Elements.
• Experience with document editors, text-heavy tools, collaboration software, or bid and proposal workflows.
