Product Designer (Automotive)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Full-time hybrid role based in the London office, combining in-person collaboration with remote work.

What you will do

• Design digital in-vehicle experiences for vehicle operators, guests, and customers across development and demonstration fleets.
• Conduct research, observation, and usability testing, then translate findings into clear journeys, workflows, and interactions.
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished production-ready designs.
• Design cohesive multimodal experiences across visual interfaces, sound, haptics, and lighting.
• Define interaction states, edge cases, and feedback in sufficient detail for implementation.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, and stakeholders to review implementation and maintain design quality.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong interaction and visual/UI design craft, including the ability to clarify complex information and interactions.
• Understanding of inclusive and accessible design across different needs and contexts.
• Strong wireframing and prototyping skills, with the ability to select appropriate levels of fidelity.
• Experience owning product problems through discovery, design, validation, and delivery.
• Experience planning and conducting user research or usability testing and applying the results.
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers and engineers throughout product development.

Nice to have

• Experience designing interfaces for complex, real-time, physical, automotive, mobility, gaming, robotics, industrial, kiosk, or other interactive systems.
• Experience designing under hardware, safety, attention, or contextual constraints.
• Experience with operational tools, real-time interfaces, generative AI, coding tools, in-vehicle interfaces, Android Auto, or JAMA guidance.
