Lead API Developer

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States; hybrid work with onsite and remote components

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize high-performance APIs and Java-based RESTful services.
• Architect API solutions that provide scalability, reliability, and security while integrating with external client systems.
• Lead and mentor API developers, guide technical discussions, and establish API standards and best practices.
• Create technical designs, review architecture documents, translate requirements into functional system designs, and recommend development tools and frameworks.
• Drive release planning, change requests, deployments, post-release validation, and application support across environments.
• Collaborate with business, design, technical, client, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Java/J2EE development experience with REST API, Spring Boot, Angular, XML, JSON, and Swagger.
• 8+ years of RESTful or SOAP web services experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Angular, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML.
• 5+ years of experience with GitHub, Jenkins, and CI/CD servers.
• Experience writing JavaScript unit tests and using Agile application development methodologies.
• Experience with release management, release planning, change requests, and production deployments.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with API management platforms such as Apigee.
