Category Manager (Road Transport)

What you will do

• Develop and implement category strategies for existing and future logistics activities, predominantly road transport.
• Lead supplier negotiations and sourcing activities aligned with business and logistics strategies.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Legal, Procurement and other stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and total-cost solutions.
• Govern major logistics contracts and supplier relationships, including service continuity, risk management and value delivery.
• Implement new logistics service agreements and manage related business changes.
• Manage supplier performance, formal contract reviews, cost management, innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in logistics and/or supply chain, preferably road logistics.
• Strong contract-management experience, including developing, negotiating, implementing and managing supplier contracts.
• Understanding of key logistics cost drivers and strong commercial and business acumen.
• Ability to engage executive management, influence stakeholders and deliver outcomes through others.
• Strong planning, prioritisation, attention to detail, communication and relationship-building skills.
• A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain and Logistics, Engineering, Commerce, Business or a related discipline is highly regarded.
