Commercial Manager (Data Centres)

What you will do

• Lead and develop commercial teams across assigned hyperscale data centre construction projects.
• Develop commercial, procurement, and contracting strategies, including cost modelling and forecasting.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Oversee variations, claims, disputes, contractual compliance, budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while ensuring compliance with legal and governance requirements.
• Provide strategic commercial advice and build relationships with project stakeholders.

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial management experience in construction or infrastructure.
• Extensive experience with construction projects, ideally data centres or other mission-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian construction regulations, procurement frameworks, and approval processes.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Advanced contract administration, financial management, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Aconex, Procore, Microsoft applications, and commercial or project management systems.

Nice to have

• Experience working for a principal contractor or in a client-side commercial leadership role.
• Professional certification such as MRICS, PMP, or AIQS.
