Senior/Lead Instrumentation Engineer

What you will do

• Lead instrumentation teams within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Lead instrumentation design activities from concept through completion.
• Analyse complex engineering problems and develop effective, cost-conscious solutions.
• Prepare and manage bid, approval, and construction-issue instrumentation packages.
• Review engineering work, perform peer reviews, and mentor junior and intermediate staff.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, project field personnel, and site teams during installation reviews and sign-off.

Requirements

• Third-level degree in Instrumentation Engineering, NFQ Level 8, or a similar discipline.
• 10+ years of formal experience in industrial engineering design.
• Advanced experience with instrumentation design deliverables, including instrument indexes, I/O lists, specifications, data sheets, layouts, cable containment, block diagrams, system architecture, and ATEX/hazardous-area requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable instrumentation codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Experience with project execution, budget control, resource planning, change management, and value engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of specifications and contract documents.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Smart Plant Instrumentation and digital project delivery.
• Experience leading large projects with total installed cost above €200 million.
