CNC Machinist / Operator

Location: On-site, Newburyport, Massachusetts, United States; 1st shift at the Newburyport facility.

Salary: $20.00–$41.24 per hour, depending on level, skills, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Run CNC lathes, including 2-axis and live-tooling machines, and 3-, 4-, or 5-axis mills.
• Perform work holding, tool kitting, tool touch-offs, and offset setting.
• Read manufacturing drawings, process sheets, and machine programs for each job.
• Inspect parts for dimensional and visual quality and support first-article approval.
• Monitor equipment and tooling, escalate breakdowns, and troubleshoot process issues.
• Set up jobs, edit programs at the machine, and train junior machinists at higher levels.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience running CNC mills and/or lathes in a production environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
• Ability to work on-site at the Newburyport, Massachusetts facility.

Nice to have

• Four or more years of experience, including machine setup and program editing.
• Experience with FANUC, Yasnac, Mitsubishi, Brother, or Heidenhain controls.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and experience with offline tool presetters or quick-change tooling.
• Advanced Machine Technology training or a machining certificate or degree.
• Knowledge of 5S or 6S.
