R&D Machinist (CNC)

Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States. The role requires working in the facility and may involve long hours and weekends to support critical milestones.

Salary: $41.40–$59.60 per hour, depending on level: Machinist III $41.40–$50.60; Machinist IV $48.60–$59.60. Equity is also offered.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and live-tooling lathes.
• Machine development hardware and test fixtures using graphite, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys.
• Monitor, replace, and reset cutting tools and perform deburring as needed.
• Provide manufacturability feedback to engineering for component development.
• Complete work instructions and process documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and understand G-code, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Experience with stainless steel, exotic alloys such as Inconel, and/or graphite is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under export regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience operating Fanuc CNC controllers.
• Experience modifying G-code based on machine performance.
• Experience in an R&D machining environment.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, NQA1, or a similar quality system.
• Ability to adjust priorities in response to changing schedules.
