CNC Machinist III

Location: Walpole, Massachusetts, United States. Onsite, 3rd shift opportunity. U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Salary: $31.61–$47.42 per hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and complex 5-axis and 6-axis machining centers.
• Produce large-scale defense components such as hubs, impellers, and CPP propellers from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling, adjust offsets, verify machine parameters, and perform deburring, polishing, and grinding.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM equipment, and other precision instruments.
• Maintain production, quality, and maintenance records while following safety and DoD standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control specialists to resolve production issues and meet specifications.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a machinist.
• Associate’s degree or CNC Machining Technology certification from a two-year program, plus a high school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of machining fundamentals, G-code, M-code, and shop mathematics.
• Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T requirements.
• Proficiency with precision inspection tools.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Ability to wear PPE, stand for extended periods, perform physical work, and lift up to 55 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience in defense manufacturing.
• Experience with Fanuc or Siemens CNC controls.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or TPM principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
