Staff Software Engineer (Seattle)

hirify.global is building an AI-powered financial ecosystem for Latin immigrants in the U.S., starting with WhatsApp-based remittances and using AI, blockchain, and stablecoins for cross-border payments.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize foundational microservices and infrastructure supporting customer-facing and business-critical products.
• Improve platform resilience through retries, circuit breakers, fallbacks, automated recovery, monitoring, observability, and incident response improvements.
• Identify bottlenecks and improve system efficiency, scalability, and availability during continued company growth.
• Set the platform’s architectural vision and assess system interactions, data flows, and company-wide technical impact.
• Collaborate with Staff Engineers across Payments, Disbursements, and GRC on shared infrastructure, API contracts, and event-driven standards.
• Mentor Senior and Mid-level engineers and promote strong practices in system design, testing, domain-driven design, and CI/CD delivery.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating complex distributed systems.
• Backend experience with Python, Go, or Java, plus REST APIs, gRPC, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, including idempotency, concurrency control, failure domains, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with resilience engineering, observability, and monitoring solutions.
• Experience operating cloud-native systems with GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, or equivalent technologies.
• Fluent or advanced English, legal authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship, and availability for hybrid work in Seattle.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Redis, Flask/FastAPI, Google Cloud services, New Relic, or PagerDuty.
