Plant Utilities Maintenance Technician (Night Shift) (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; onsite night-shift role. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Salary: $52,800–$72,600 per year.

What you will do

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and utility systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain RTUs, AHUs, split systems, exhaust fans, and ventilation systems.
• Maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
• Complete facility repairs involving lighting, doors, walls, ceilings, carpentry, hardware, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain high-pressure steam and hot-water boilers, controls, cooling towers, and chemical treatment systems.
• Read manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation while following GMP and Good Documentation Practices.

Requirements

• No allergy to penicillin, cephalosporin, or related products and minerals.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three or more years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment systematically, perform hands-on repairs, and safely use tools, meters, and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with a maintenance team, and document work clearly.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, technical degree, trade-school training, or apprenticeship.
• Experience in FDA-regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, medical-device, or healthcare environments.
• Experience with CMMS or work-order systems.
• HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or related trade certifications.
• Light machining skills.
