Sr. Mechanical Engineering Manager — Vacuum Systems

Base pay: $181,000–$265,467 annually

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary mechanical engineering team, setting technical direction, priorities, and execution plans.
• Own mechanical architecture and delivery for EUV source subsystems, including vacuum chambers, laser packaging, collector mirror mounts, gas delivery interfaces, and precision motion hardware.
• Drive requirements definition, tolerance analysis, design reviews, validation planning, release discipline, and documentation quality.
• Partner with technology, optics, systems, manufacturing, controls, service, and production development organizations to improve performance, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for complex subsystem issues and manage supplier technical engagement.
• Support safety-by-design, tooling development, build and validation activities, and customer-site readiness; occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; M.S. preferred.
• 10+ years developing complex hardware or capital equipment, such as semiconductor tools, precision vacuum systems, opto-mechanical equipment, or aerospace-grade mechanisms.
• 5+ years of people management experience leading engineers through concept-to-release development.
• Expertise in multiple areas including vacuum/UHV design, precision mechanisms, rotating machinery or air bearings, thermal-structural design, vibration and dynamics, contamination-aware design, and design for manufacturability or serviceability.
• Strong cross-functional communication and leadership skills with the ability to align technical stakeholders and suppliers.

Nice to have

• Experience with EUV-adjacent source or illumination subsystems, high-power laser-integrated hardware, or precision opto-mechanical alignment systems.
• Experience with cryogenic mechanisms and reliable, maintainable vacuum feedthroughs and seals.
• Experience with production transfer and sustaining engineering support.
