Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer

Location: Andover, Massachusetts, United States. The role is generally for candidates residing in states where MKS is registered to do business.

Salary: $155,250–$258,750 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop and release vacuum sensing products with improvements in performance, cost, and size.
• Identify product performance limitations and create technology improvement roadmaps.
• Design new sensor architectures and low-noise electronic circuits.
• Troubleshoot complex product issues to root cause and support resolution.
• Lead or participate as a lead member of multidisciplinary product teams with responsibility for electronics development and release.
• Develop, set up, and execute hands-on engineering tests.

Requirements

• Deep technical background in low-noise electronics, precision sensors, and embedded microprocessors.
• Extensive experience supporting multidisciplinary products, including electronics, firmware, mechanical systems, and sensors.
• Experience with manufacturing systems, documentation control, BOM structures, and ECO processes.
• BS or higher in Engineering and 12+ years of experience; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and technical discussion leadership skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice to have

• Experience with sensors and instrumentation, vacuum systems, or semiconductor capital equipment.
• Advanced engineering degree.
