TL;DR
Senior Specialist, Environment, Health and Safety (Automotive): Leading EHS planning, compliance, and operational readiness for Scout Motors' vehicle sales and service network with an accent on facility launches, regulatory coordination, and cross-functional program execution. Focus on integrating EHS requirements across site development, construction, and operations, managing enterprise project plans, and driving audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement across multiple locations.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings, events, and frequent domestic travel to other Scout locations.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified and digitally enabled pickup trucks and rugged SUVs while building a new vehicle company and commercial network.

What you will do

  • Lead EHS strategies, operational readiness, and site activation for vehicle sales and service locations.
  • Integrate EHS requirements into site selection, design, construction, launch, and ongoing operations.
  • Coordinate EHS priorities across Commercial Operations, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities, Legal, Security, HR, and external partners.
  • Own enterprise project plans, governance processes, timelines, deliverables, stakeholder communications, and executive updates.
  • Standardize EHS procedures, documentation, training, reporting, audits, assessments, and performance metrics across locations.
  • Lead incident investigations, corrective action plans, risk assessments, contractor oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of EHS experience, with knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local US regulations.
  • Strong project and program management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience with facility construction projects, multi-site vehicle sales and service locations, automotive, construction, or large-scale expansion programs is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Avetta, ISN, Ideagen, or Benchmark.
  • Valid driver’s license required; frequent domestic business travel and regular office attendance are required.

Nice to have

  • Professional certification such as CSP.
  • At least two years of experience supporting facility construction projects.
