Lead Software Engineer (Next.js/Java)

Location: Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite position.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of full-stack solutions using Next.js, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, coding standards, engineering practices, and key technical decisions.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, UX, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
• Drive CI/CD automation, test coverage, observability, cloud-native design, and system resilience.
• Mentor developers through code reviews, technical coaching, and pair programming.
• Contribute to platform strategy, architectural planning, and component roadmaps.

Requirements

• Professional experience building enterprise-grade software applications.
• Strong expertise in Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API design.
• Technical leadership or engineering team mentoring experience.
• Experience deploying and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager and enterprise eCommerce platforms such as HCL Commerce, Shopify Plus, or Magento.
• Industrial, heavy equipment, IoT platform, or prior hirify.global experience.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL, caching, SSR, edge rendering, or other advanced web patterns.
