Fullstack Software Engineer II (Java/React)

Location: Houston, TX, hybrid with 3 days in the office; U.S. locations also available in Boston, MA

Salary: $97,620–$156,190 USD base salary per year, plus variable incentive pay and benefits.

What you will do

• Build and improve the Rebates platform across user interfaces, backend APIs, data models, and accrual workflows.
• Develop accessible features in React and TypeScript and connect them to backend services.
• Design Java services, REST endpoints, business rules, and data access code for rebate workflows.
• Work with SQL-backed and document data, including schema changes and migrations.
• Contribute to distributed accrual processing and investigate data correctness and performance issues.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; review code; troubleshoot production issues; and improve deployment and observability workflows.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience across frontend and backend systems.
• Strong Java skills and hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of SQL, API design, and automated testing.
• Ability to deliver scoped work independently and collaborate across application, data, and deployment boundaries.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days in the Houston office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, Dropwizard, JDBI, Liquibase, Microsoft SQL Server, or Azure Cosmos DB.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or other Azure services.
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or data-intensive financial calculations.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or JUnit.
