Base pay: $202,500–$274,000 per year

What you will do

• Drive technical initiatives across API, data, backend, and frontend layers.
• Architect and build scalable, secure, cloud-native applications and services for HCM and team management.
• Spend approximately 70% of the role coding while setting technical direction and leading a small engineering team.
• Design and launch AI-powered product and engineering capabilities, then evaluate their production impact.
• Lead requirements gathering, technical design, project planning, testing, design reviews, and cross-functional delivery.
• Champion automated testing, CI/CD, observability, performance, security, accessibility, internationalization, and end-to-end quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing and developing online SaaS applications with full-stack expertise.
• Strong backend experience with Java and/or Kotlin and Spring Boot, plus frontend experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• 5+ years of building and consuming web APIs, including REST and ideally gRPC and/or GraphQL.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture and the full software development lifecycle, including automated testing, TDD, and CI/CD.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, design review, mentoring, and Agile/Scrum experience.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• AWS cloud-native development with microservices, containers, and Kubernetes.
• Kafka, Elasticsearch, and SQL/NoSQL database design experience.
• Hands-on AI or GenAI experience, including LLM prompting, retrieval, model integration, and production monitoring.
• Production observability and instrumentation experience with metrics, logging, and tracing.
• Experience building and growing strong engineering teams and connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.
