Senior Device Electrical Engineer (High-Speed Optoelectronics)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; office and laboratory environment with up to 10% travel required. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $101,675–$169,475 per year

What you will do

• Design, analyze, test, and debug high-speed optoelectronic devices and analog electronic hardware.
• Develop high-speed photodiodes above 100 GHz and specify their epitaxial design, fabrication, receiver contribution, and reliability.
• Support product development from concept through production release, including design reviews, documentation, manufacturing, sustaining engineering, and field investigations.
• Perform device, optical, RF, electrical, signal-integrity, and performance simulations.
• Develop models, correlate simulation results with laboratory measurements, and characterize performance across optical and electrical domains.
• Collaborate with optical, RF, manufacturing, and FAB engineering teams to optimize system performance and photodiode production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
• 8+ years of experience in electronics or device development.
• Experience designing and debugging high-speed electronic circuits and supporting products through development and release.
• Experience with photodiodes, TIAs, optical receivers, RF components and analysis, or related optoelectronic systems.
• Experience with device physics, optical, RF/electrical simulation, layout, and GDS generation.
• Strong hands-on laboratory skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-speed optical communications, datacenter networking, and 100G, 200G, 400G, or higher-speed systems.
• Familiarity with optical transceivers, receiver architectures, photonic integrated circuits, and advanced optoelectronic devices.
• Experience with RF and microwave circuit design or III-V device fabrication.
• Experience using oscilloscopes, VNAs, BERTs, and optical test equipment.
