Design Engineer (Frontend)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Palo Alto, California

Salary: $200,000–$280,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Shape and build interactive experiences across the website, product, launch pages, visual essays, data visualizations, and minisites.
• Refine everyday interactions, motion, typography, layout, and interaction timing.
• Prototype design directions and carry selected concepts through to production.
• Build responsive, accessible, and performant websites in the browser.
• Create reusable components and patterns that accelerate future projects.
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and engineers from initial concepts through launch.

Requirements

• Experience as a design engineer or frontend engineer with strong design instincts.
• Shipped working websites with clear ownership of design and implementation decisions.
• Strong attention to typography, layout, interaction feel, and visual detail.
• Comfort with modern frontend and animation libraries, including deciding when custom solutions are appropriate.
• Ability to move quickly through prototypes and deliver responsive, accessible, and performant sites.
• Ability to work fully in person between the Palo Alto headquarters and San Francisco office.
