Solicitor (Property Insurance Disputes)

Location: Hybrid role based in Glasgow, United Kingdom; primary working location is home, with Glasgow as the office location

What you will do

• Manage a personal caseload of pre- and post-litigation property damage claims.
• Handle liability, recovery, indemnity, and contractual disputes across commercial and domestic matters.
• Conduct court hearings, including Proofs, and manage court deadlines and timetables.
• Draft pleadings and other court documents, review quantum, and analyse evidence.
• Instruct and work with experts and Counsel while liaising with clients, insurers, policyholders, witnesses, and third parties.
• Negotiate settlements and support other file handlers with their caseloads.

Requirements

• Experience handling pre- and post-litigation damages claims.
• Experience in insurer-funded property damage work.
• Experience conducting court hearings up to and including Proofs.
• Experience drafting court documents and understanding litigation processes.
• Strong communication, organisation, prioritisation, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively within the hirify.global Shared Behaviour framework and maintain client service levels.
