IP Tech & Product Counsel (AI)

Location: Bielsko-Biała, Poland; hybrid or full-remote option. Regular support for US Eastern and EMEA time zones is required, with occasional late meetings based on business needs.

What you will do

• Support senior counsel with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating technology, data, AI/ML, SaaS, software, IP licensing, supplier, partner, and customer agreements.
• Review open-source, open-data, cloud, EULA, online terms, evaluation, beta, and EU data agreements.
• Advise on intellectual property matters including patents, trade secrets, ownership, licensing, claims, portfolio management, and prosecution support.
• Support AI compliance through license reviews, risk assessments, policies, disclosures, disclaimers, and guidance on model ownership, training data, and AI outputs.
• Provide legal counseling throughout product development, from ideation to launch, including products, features, APIs, integrations, interfaces, documentation, and marketing content.
• Monitor IP, AI, and data regulations and support audits, due diligence, compliance certifications, complaints, disputes, and governance reviews.

Requirements

• Law degree from an accredited institution or local equivalent, with admission to practice law in the local jurisdiction.
• 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in IP and technology law, including significant data licensing and product counseling experience.
• At least 4 years of in-house experience in a technology, SaaS, or data enterprise is preferred.
• Professional fluency in English at an advanced legal reading, writing, and communication level is required.
• Hybrid or full-remote work from the Poland-based role setup, with regular support for US Eastern and EMEA time zones.
• Knowledge of trademarks, patents, copyrights, trade secrets, ownership, licensing, confidentiality, software, and data-driven technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud computing, APIs, MCPs, data analytics platforms, or AI/ML product development.
• Experience using AI tools for contract drafting, review, document summarization, legal research, and workflow efficiency.
• Understanding of AI risk, data and privacy implications, AI use policies, software architecture, and data models.
• Ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts for product, engineering, data, and business stakeholders.
