Specialist, Systems Engineering, RC-135 Network Systems

What you will do

• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and reconstitute complex enterprise networks using Cisco, Dell, Brocade, and other routing and switching hardware.
• Administer TCP/IP networks, static and dynamic routing, switching infrastructure, firewalls, and next-generation firewalls.
• Maintain enterprise network services in Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows environments, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and LDAP.
• Implement defensive measures, secure configurations, and Type 1 encryption devices.
• Support RC-135 operational and ground training sorties as a qualified Mission Systems Computer Systems Administrator using the Ground Data Processing System.
• Provide network status updates, maintain network diagrams, train USAF personnel, and collaborate with local and remote systems engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant networking operations and sustainment experience, or a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI polygraph within the first year.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for access to classified information.
• Ability to work mission-dependent shifts, travel up to 15%, and deploy worldwide.
• Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification or higher within six months, lift up to 50 pounds, and climb ladders occasionally.

Nice to have

• CCNA certification.
• MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent Unix/Linux certification.
• Experience with Linux shell scripting, MySQL, PHP, Perl, Java, and HTML.
• Experience with RC-135 mission systems or an equivalent platform.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
