Systems Administrator II (Windows)

What you will do

• Administer and maintain Windows networks, servers, operating systems, applications, and related infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and sustain hardware, Windows systems, commercial off-the-shelf software, network accounts, and system services.
• Manage backups and recovery, software and security operations, resource allocation, and configuration records.
• Monitor system availability, capacity, and performance; perform sizing, tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Configure firewalls, antivirus capabilities, intrusion-detection services, and other network security tools.
• Document system specifications and procedures, support IT procurement research, and assist users with technical issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• At least four years of professional experience administering Windows networks, operating systems, and software systems.
• An active DoD Top Secret security clearance and eligibility to maintain the clearance are required.
• Compliance with DoD Cyber Workforce requirements, including Information Assurance Technician Level II designation.
• Experience with TCP/IP and enterprise network protocols, system backup and recovery, security tools, vulnerability detection, and performance tuning.
• Must be able to work full-time on-site in Dahlgren, Virginia.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related technical discipline.
• CompTIA Security+, A+, Network+, Microsoft, VMware, networking, virtualization, or cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience supporting DoD or U.S. Navy IT environments.
• Experience with technical market research, IT procurement, configuration management, cybersecurity, and change-control processes.
