Lead, Systems Engineering - Link 22

Location: Rockwall, Texas, United States. The role is onsite and includes travel ranging from less than 10% during software development to more than 50% during integration, testing, and delivery.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary Link 22 subject matter expert across architecture, message standards, network design, configuration, and system applications.
• Integrate and configure Link 22 hardware and software for airborne weapon systems and maritime communication platforms.
• Architect multi-node Link 22 data flows, including function groups, time-slot management, message routing, and interoperability with Link 16 and VMF.
• Translate customer needs and CONOPS into traceable system requirements and subsystem specifications.
• Develop and execute integration, verification, compliance, performance, and interoperability test plans and scenarios.
• Present complex Link 22 architecture and configuration information to technical and non-technical stakeholders and government customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 7 years of experience; 13 years may substitute for a degree.
• Hands-on experience integrating and configuring Link 22 tactical data link systems for airborne or ground-based applications.
• Working knowledge of Link 22 network architecture, NPG design, time-slot assignment, and STANAG 5522 message standards.
• Experience with Link 22 scenarios, NILE conformance testing, NILE PMO, NILE GOTS hardware/software, and multi-domain network environments.
• Experience integrating software-defined V/UHF radio systems and developing requirements, verification, and validation artifacts.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI and U.S. Citizenship are required.

Nice to have

• Security+ certification and experience with exportable configurations, software updates, version management, and configuration baselines.
• Link 16 or other tactical data link interoperability experience.
• Experience with Leonardo DRS and Curtiss-Wright products, flight testing, and multinational coalition environments.
• Ability to obtain an active flight physical and experience working with domestic and foreign subcontractors or customers.
