Field Service Engineer I (Mass Spectrometry)

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States; remote from home with customer-site travel across the greater Kansas City area

Salary: $36.50–$38.75 per hour, plus eligible bonus or incentive pay

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mass spectrometers, HPLC, and capillary electrophoresis instrumentation at internal and external customer sites.
• Resolve assigned customer and technical issues independently and support strategic accounts.
• Perform instrument qualification services and provide customer training.
• Log service activities, submit expense reports, and manage inventory.
• Travel domestically and internationally by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel.
• Mentor and develop less experienced staff members.

Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent military electronics or avionics experience.
• Required experience with LCMS, capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, or scientific instrumentation.
• Understanding of SCIEX or competing analytical instrumentation products.
• Ability to meet vendor credentialing requirements.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform walking, climbing, standing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and bending duties.

Nice to have

• Experience troubleshooting and following structured problem-solving procedures.
• Experience with electrical and electromechanical technology.
• Knowledge of required safety protocols.
