HR Safety and Health Intern (Occupational Health & Safety)

Location: Denton, Texas, United States; onsite attendance required

What you will do

• Support workplace incident investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, and following up on corrective actions.
• Assist with Occupational Health & Safety audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Manage administrative activities including training assignments, risk assessments, action tracking, and documentation updates.
• Contribute to safety awareness initiatives and programs that strengthen the safety culture.
• Monitor and report safety metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with employees and stakeholders to support safe work practices in office, field, and remote environments.

Requirements

• Strong team orientation, proactive approach, self-starter mentality, and eagerness to learn.
• Availability to work onsite for 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week during the summer; part-time work of up to 20 hours per week during the school year.
• Graduation must take place after the internship ends.
• Suggested academic backgrounds include Emergency Administration and Planning, Engineering, Business, and Occupational Health and Safety.
• Work visa sponsorship, relocation, and housing are not provided.
