Mgr - Human Resources

Location: Filer City, Michigan, United States; onsite at the Filer City Mill

Salary: $108,500–$201,500 per year

What you will do

• Direct all human resources activities for the Filer City Mill.
• Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and serve as the chief company spokesperson in labor negotiations, grievances, and arbitration hearings.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws, HR policies, EEO and affirmative action requirements, and ISO quality responsibilities.
• Direct mill safety, security, workforce planning, recruiting, and workers’ compensation cost-reduction efforts.
• Administer salary and hourly benefit programs and monitor manpower and compensation budgets.
• Coordinate with legal counsel, corporate legal teams, media, and community stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Labor and Industrial Relations or a similar field.
• At least 5 years of human resources and labor relations experience.
• At least 3 years of experience negotiating labor contracts and handling labor arbitrations and grievances.
• Experience serving as a chief spokesperson in labor negotiations and arbitration cases.
• Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of federal and state workers’ compensation systems and the ability to work with employees at all organizational levels.
