Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $22–$40.50 per hour in New York state; final compensation may vary by experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Support production of high-reliability electronic hardware for tactical satellite equipment, including SMT solder assembly, mechanical integration, and environmental testing.
• Develop work instructions, assembly routings, manufacturing strategies, process procedures, and labor or cycle-time standards.
• Design, develop, transfer, and qualify manufacturing tools, equipment, materials, and process controls.
• Coordinate new product introductions and product transfers from Engineering to Production with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams.
• Support non-conformance reviews, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, planned labor and cycle-time variances, process performance, and product-line KPIs.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work onsite in Salt Lake City, Utah.
• Some positions may require a security clearance, which can only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Ability to meet applicable background-check, drug-testing, and classified-information access eligibility requirements where required.

Nice to have

• Experience with soldering or basic electronic manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Basic understanding of 3D printing.
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt.
• Experience with Minitab, JMP, or other statistical software.
