Systems Engineering Intern, Fall/Winter 2026

Location: San Bruno, California, United States

Salary: $35–$45 per hour, excluding benefits and potential equity.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design and validation for new consumer products.
• Build test setups and explore new methods for controlling electromechanical systems.
• Support system engineering tests and troubleshoot performance with firmware engineers and product designers.
• Develop prototypes and execute tests to advance designs toward mass production.
• Work hands-on with hardware components, lab equipment, CAD tools, and system analysis.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, completed or in progress.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and material selection for electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably NX.
• Proficiency in rapid prototyping methods.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with FEA, thermal simulation, or statistical analysis.
• Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing, including DFM and DFA.
