Intern, Information Security Systems Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Salary: $22.50–$41.00 per hour

What you will do

• Assess security infrastructure, network architecture, and systems design to support secure implementations.
• Identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities across networks, systems, applications, and new technology initiatives.
• Support the development, testing, and operation of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise antivirus systems, and software deployment tools.
• Develop security policies, procedures, technical assessments, and programmatic evaluations.
• Evaluate engineering and integration initiatives and provide technical support for security standards and guidelines.
• Evaluate security products, recommend network security services, and advise clients on information assurance technologies and dependencies.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems with a network or communications focus, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A completed bachelor's degree within the last 12 months is also acceptable.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and security infrastructure is relevant to the role.
• Many positions may require the ability to obtain a security clearance; clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, IPSec, and VPNs.
• Knowledge of antivirus, authentication, authorization, access control, cryptography, SSO, business continuity planning, and application security.
