Associate Director, EHS & Security (Pharmaceutical)

Location: West Chester and Blue Ash, Ohio, USA; primarily office-based with regular presence on the manufacturing floor and controlled/cleanroom areas.

Base pay: $137,500–$203,125 per year, plus an annual cash bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead the site EHS and physical security organization across the West Chester and Blue Ash sites.
• Build a proactive safety and environmental culture through governance, employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Translate EHS and security strategy into operational plans, risk controls, management systems, and measurable performance goals.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to integrate EHS requirements into processes, equipment design, and capital projects.
• Oversee incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, inspections, risk assessments, and regulatory audits.
• Manage external stakeholders, consultants, regulatory filings, permits, budgets, and cross-site EHS alignment.

Requirements

• Work authorization sponsorship, including visas, is not available.
• Demonstrated EHS experience focused on health, safety, and industrial hygiene programs.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Experience applying EHS management systems and leading complex programs, processes, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong risk management, business communication, technical writing, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to work regularly on the manufacturing floor, enter controlled/cleanroom areas, and use required PPE.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health.
• 10+ years of EHS experience, including people leadership.
• Pharmaceutical industry, Lean, and GMP experience.
• Professional certification such as CSP or CIH.
