Associate Director, Maintenance (Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing)

Location: Walkersville, Maryland, United States. Onsite role based at the Walkersville office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST.

Salary: $174,000–$203,000 base annual salary, plus a performance-related bonus.

What you will do

• Lead maintenance, utilities, calibration, and reliability functions to support safe, efficient, and compliant site operations.
• Oversee plant utilities and systems, including HVAC, WFI, steam, compressed air, process gases, and manufacturing equipment.
• Manage the Integrated Facilities Management vendor, including contract performance, KPIs, service delivery, and budgets.
• Develop operating budgets, forecasts, and capital plans for facilities and maintenance activities.
• Drive asset reliability, maintenance effectiveness, overall equipment efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support capital projects, facility expansions, equipment installations, audits, inspections, deviations, and CAPA activities.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience managing maintenance, utilities, or facilities in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional maintenance, utilities, and reliability engineering teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of facility systems, HVAC, GMP utilities, and biologics manufacturing operations.
• Experience managing vendors and outsourced service providers, including performance monitoring and contract management.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, continuous improvement, asset management, and CMMS systems; SAP is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
