Program Manager

Location: Hybrid role based in Oakland, California, with work from a remote office and regular presence at PG&E's Oakland-based headquarters as required.

Salary: $85,000–$127,000 per year, with Bay Area midpoint of $106,000. Eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage project submissions and ongoing compliance for the U.S. Department of Energy loan program, with potential support for grants and other government awards.
• Identify, vet, and submit eligible projects through the full lifecycle from project identification to DOE loan authorization.
• Partner with Project Management, Program Management, Environmental, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Policy stakeholders to gather and synthesize required data and documentation.
• Communicate DOE requirements, timelines, and expectations to internal partners and serve as a contact for DOE project-submission communications.
• Improve submission and compliance processes while supporting enhancements to dashboards and AI tools.
• Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, summarize findings, and communicate risks, recommendations, and actionable business insights to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of related experience or equivalent.
• Experience in project controls, project management, program management, or a similar discipline.
• Ability to collaborate across project management, environmental, procurement, and other functional teams.
• Experience with major construction projects, environmental permitting, regulated electric or gas utilities, or government-funded projects is relevant.
• Experience with Analysis for Office reports, Power BI, Salesforce, SAP, Snowflake, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Dataverse, or P6 is desired.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, business, finance, public policy, sociology, engineering, physics, or a related field.
