Program Manager (Federal IT)

Location: Remote, with hybrid work as approved in Silver Spring, Maryland or College Park, Maryland; occasional travel to NOAA locations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide program and project management support across NOAA National Weather Service portfolios, programs, and IT initiatives.
• Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects using established project management practices.
• Maintain integrated master schedules, risk registers, dashboards, status reports, project plans, briefings, charters, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor cost, schedule, scope, performance metrics, risks, issues, action items, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Support CPIC activities, governance boards, integrated project team meetings, stakeholder reviews, audits, and independent assessments.
• Support acquisition activities, including RFIs, statements of work, requests for proposals, and procurement documentation.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required to meet federal contract eligibility requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, information technology, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of experience supporting federal IT programs or projects.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with portfolio, program, and project management frameworks; Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Visio, and cloud-based collaboration tools.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting NOAA, the National Weather Service, or Department of Commerce initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and hybrid project environments.
• Experience supporting cloud, enterprise IT, or infrastructure programs.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports and responses to data calls.
