Technician II, Test (R6165)

Location: Seattle, Washington; on-site

Salary: $30–$46 per hour, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

• Construct and assemble large-scale structures and test articles from engineering drawings and CAD models.
• Support prototyping, fabrication, repair, and rapid modification of aerospace hardware and test fixtures.
• Install strain gauges, thermocouples, and sensors; route cabling and integrate data acquisition systems.
• Conduct static and dynamic mechanical testing, verify sensor calibration, and document test results and anomalies.
• Maintain test equipment records, parts inventory, instrumentation standards, and safe shop and lab workspaces.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in fabrication or aerospace-grade instrumentation.
• Strong experience with strain gauge installation and sensor wiring.
• Hands-on experience with manual and/or CNC machine shop tools.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
• Ability to work in shop and lab environments with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
• Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and perform physical work for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanical testing systems, load frames, and data acquisition systems.
• Background in aerospace, automotive, defense, or high-performance prototyping.
• Knowledge of adhesives, fasteners, and composite-to-metal bonding.
• Experience with MIL-STD vibration, shock, and thermal testing.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing technical needs.
