Senior Software Engineers, Cloud Infrastructure (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Carlos, California, with 3+ days per week onsite and remote work on remaining days. All work must be performed in the United States.

Salary: $173K–$225K base salary annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design, provision, and operate secure AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK and Terraform.
• Build CI/CD, testing, data ingestion, and ML pipelines for applications, infrastructure, and model workflows.
• Deploy and operate LLM runtimes using Bedrock, SageMaker, ECS/EKS, Lambda, and Batch.
• Build RAG systems, embedding and chunking pipelines, knowledge bases, vector search, and data synchronization services.
• Create evaluation, observability, cost-governance, safety, privacy, and compliance systems for production LLM applications.
• Support IoT edge deployments and partner with product and application teams to integrate retrieval services, embeddings, and LLM chains into user-facing features.

Requirements

• 4+ years working with serverless or container platforms on AWS.
• Production experience shipping or operating LLM-powered applications, including RAG design, prompt versioning, and LangChain or similar orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, S3, ECS/EKS, Lambda, Step Functions, Bedrock, and SageMaker.
• Experience building Python ingestion and transformation pipelines, with familiarity with Glue, Athena, EventBridge, and SQS.
• Experience with vector databases, OpenSearch, or pgvector at scale, plus security, least-privilege access, secrets management, and network isolation.
• U.S. Person status is required; visa sponsorship and visa transfers are not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bedrock Guardrails, Knowledge Bases, custom policy engines, GPU workloads, Triton Inference Server, or TensorRT-LLM.
• Experience with big-data processing and search, aviation data, safety-critical domains, or DevOps/DevSecOps for ML and application services.
