Manager, Quality Engineering (AI)

Location: McLean, Virginia, USA; onsite at hirify.global Headquarters

Base salary: $125,000–$250,000 USD per year, plus a potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and expand a team of manual and automation QA engineers.
• Define the quality strategy and build scalable UI, API, unit, and performance testing frameworks.
• Develop custom testing applications using Java or Python and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, and Postman.
• Integrate automated smoke, regression, and release testing into GitLab CI and DevOps pipelines.
• Establish quality metrics, automation coverage targets, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Identify codebase impacts, edge cases, dependencies, and deployment risks for complex platform features.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Quality Assurance experience, including 3+ years in a QA management, lead, or supervisory role.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building test automation frameworks with tools such as Playwright and Selenium.
• Strong proficiency in at least two automation programming languages, such as Python and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Master-level knowledge of API, performance/load, and security testing fundamentals.
• Extensive Agile/Scrum experience with tools such as Jira.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-driven testing tools or autonomous test generation frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience using AI tools for test automation.
