Senior Principal, Debt (Clean Energy Finance)

Location: Remote in the United States and Canada, with optional offices in Washington, DC, New York City, and San Francisco, plus optional coworking opportunities in Seattle, Denver, Boston, Los Angeles, and other locations.

Salary: $300,000–$500,000+ annually, depending on experience and revenue scope; equity is additional.

What you will do

• Lead a book of debt mandates from IOI through close as the primary negotiator and senior execution lead.
• Drive lender diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation, documentation, credit analysis, pricing, and closing.
• Own transaction velocity, close rates, and contribution to Debt team revenue and P&L targets.
• Prepare credit memos and pricing recommendations and present transactions to Credit Committee.
• Lead, staff, review, and mentor deal teams across underwriting, diligence, and financial modeling.
• Develop lender programs, financing structures, documentation standards, repeatable execution processes, and AI-enabled transaction tooling with Structuring, Product, and Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–12+ years of total experience, including 7+ years in renewable energy project finance, infrastructure debt, or structured lending.
• Track record of leading construction, term, back-leverage, or debt capital markets transactions as the primary negotiator.
• Deep expertise in project finance debt structures for solar, wind, and storage, including credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements, and tax equity and debt interactions.
• Experience presenting transactions to credit or investment committees and leading deal teams.
• FINRA SIE, Series 79, and Series 63 required, or willingness to obtain them under hirify.global broker-dealer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• MBA, JD, or another advanced degree.
• Experience from both the lender and sponsor or advisory side.
• Strong interest in applying technology and AI to debt execution.
