Strategic Deals Lead, Cloud Compute (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual compensation: $200,000–$265,000 USD.

What you will do

• Build and manage a pipeline of cloud capacity across the integrated compute ecosystem.
• Own executive-level relationships with commercial, finance, and legal counterparts at infrastructure providers.
• Lead capacity agreements through the full deal lifecycle, including origination, negotiation, structuring, and closing.
• Develop frameworks for deal economics, counterparty risk, financing components, and long-term compute supply strategies.
• Partner with technical infrastructure teams to translate compute requirements into commercial terms.
• Maintain market intelligence on provider positioning, pricing, commercial models, and capacity-access dynamics.

Requirements

• Experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, or principal finance.
• Direct experience with data center, cloud, technology, or infrastructure transactions.
• A track record of originating, structuring, and closing transactions as a commercial, financing, or investing principal.
• Deep familiarity with compute providers, pricing, contracting, capacity commitments, and integrated compute markets.
• Working understanding of financing and infrastructure requirements for compute projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience.

Nice to have

• 6–8+ years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure investing, or principal finance roles.
• Experience managing multiple high-value transactions at different stages.
• Senior-level relationship management experience with sophisticated, capital-intensive organizations.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including building and pressure-testing infrastructure project economics.
• Interest in AI infrastructure and Anthropic’s mission.
