Care Coordinator (Specialty Pharmacy) - Cincinnati, OH

Location: On-site in Cincinnati, OH, United States; occasional travel to client sites may comprise 10–15% of the time.

Expected hourly rate: $22–$32 per hour, with potential equity, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Complete prior authorizations and investigate specialty medication benefits.
• Source financial assistance for patients and process pharmacy claims.
• Coordinate medication dispensing and shipping.
• Answer patient questions and requests to improve the pharmacy experience.
• Act as a liaison between patients, providers, pharmacists, and specialty care clinics.
• Help build pharmacy workflows and processes in a startup environment.

Requirements

• Strong core pharmacy technician skills, including claims processing and medication dispensing.
• Experience with specialty medication benefits investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance.
• Ability to engage with patients, providers, and care team members in person and by phone.
• Pharmacy technician, licensed practical nurse, or similar licensure as required by the applicable state.
• Technician registration or licensure in the state of employment is required; national CPhT certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with specialty medications, including treatments in autoimmune conditions, endocrinology, and oncology.

Nice to have

• Experience with pharmacy software such as QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, or WAM.
• Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC, Cerner, or NextGen.
• Experience with specialty pharmacy systems such as Therigy, Asembia1, or ScriptMed.
• National CPhT certification.
